About Fresh Fruit Detours

#Some of the best places in Washington aren't the ones with billboards.

They're the little fruit stands tucked down a country road. The family selling peaches from a wooden shed that's been there for decades. The honor-system stand with fresh eggs, flowers, cherries, or apples picked that morning.

Fresh Fruit Detours was created to help people find those places.

Growing up on a family orchard in Wenatchee, road trips often included a stop at a roadside fruit stand. Sometimes we were looking for cherries, sometimes peaches, and sometimes we stopped simply because a handwritten sign promised something fresh around the next bend. Those small stands were part of the journey, and they connected us to the families who grew our food.

Today, many of those family-owned farms and roadside stands rely on word of mouth. If you don't already know they're there, you might drive right past them.

That's where Fresh Fruit Detours comes in.

Our goal is simple: make it easier for people to discover Washington's local farm stands, u-pick farms, orchards, flower stands, vegetable stands, and other farm-fresh treasures while helping small farmers connect with more customers.

Built for farmers. Free for everyone.

Fresh Fruit Detours is independently run by a small Washington farmer who believes local agriculture matters.

The map is free to use and always will be. There are no subscriptions, no paywalls, and no complicated memberships. Just a growing collection of local farm stands and the people who make them possible.
